The Craigslist Congressman and Top Ten Stupid Political Quotes of 2010

By now you may have read that Rep. Christopher Lee (R-NY) is resigning over allegations that he attempted to cheat on his wife using the online service Craigslist.

The allegations were first reported Wednesday afternoon on Gawker.

So once again in the political world we have to ask the question; infidelity, is it or is it not our business? Really I am not sure. I am sure it may be the business of the constituents, as he represents them and his morale compass, and propensity for lies, is important to them. I am sure it’s his wife's business; in fact it is mostly for him and his family to deal with.

The problem for me is more the stupid way that the Congressman went about seeking a girlfriend, on Craiglist, with his own email and own name. Now I am in no way encouraging marital infidelity, I am a happily married man myself. But it is obtuse to go looking for trouble in such an open way for any married man, let alone a married man who has the small amount of fame and notability afforded to a congressman of the Niagara Falls region.




This is all proving once again there is no IQ test for public office, but as this SHORT list shows, maybe there should be.

This is leaving out a lot of crazies and pundits that said even crazier things, I stayed with only elected people and people who have held appointed important office.
I think we want Americas brightest and best running the country, not it barely literate and dull witted.


Maybe we should institute a basic knowledge test before you can get on the ballot, I mean you have to take a math test and a urine test just to get a crappy job…unless you’re a politician. --♣
